Back in Germany

Now we are back in Germany and i want to say thank youfor the whole week. The week was very nice and i learned a lot from you i hope we can see us again.

Thursday 8 November 2012

Thank you all

Thank you! It was very nice to meet you all and spent pleasant week with you.

I was happy to see how students and teachers from different countries can work and co-operate together. Students worked together in workshops and they got some new friends from other coutries. I think that is the most important thing in this project. And that we can give them some new experience.

I hope that I will see you in space3- project.

Some ideas for next project:

1. using social media, facebook and blogs etc.
2. knowledge of the architecture in different countries
3. encourage students to speak english
We have had a realy nice week in Finland. We are impresed by the way that the carpenters department are making products that they are selling to privat people og making work in companies.

We had a lot of good excursions - the tree museum, olavilinna and the building side for the new swimmingpool.

We liked - at least the teachers did - the carpenter projekt.

We were surprised that the Finsh workers where so focused on security.

We would like to work in smaller groups with the finish students.

Ideas for the space III.

1. More student involving in acivities both sparetime and projekt items.
2. Energy topics carpenters and electricicians
3. Arcitecture.

In Varpala, was it freezing?

Having fun and new experiences in Varpala

We (actually only the german and danish people) went Fishing, little bit of hiking, sauna and dinner (traditional finish food like lörtsy, sausage, nokipannukahvi = coffee made in a fireplace...and so on).

Nice catch :) Pikes, perch and lahna.

Svend showing us his catch, niiiice pike!

Afterwards we went inside to warm up a little bit. then we had coffee or tee and carelian pie with salmon.

Sami, Anne and Esko.

Finished product and visit in a joiner company

Here is one finished product our visitors made during their visit. The model is taken from Olavinlinna's tower. It is made of heat threated beech.

A week in Finnland

1.  The work in the workshop was good, we worked on a clock. Working with the olefins have been good because we have a lot explained ujnd helped us a lot

2. We visited the castle with the danes and we were also shown the school in a museum we were today, we will visit a forest.

3. Such exchange projects are good because you can see how the teaching abroad and the schulln are student

Nice week in Savonlinna

The week in Savonlinna was over very fast. Each day we had another interesting activity.
Anything was organizid very well, so that we could concentrate on learning about the
finnish way of life and make new danish and finnish friends.

The clock the students made was a good projekt to remember us of the impressive castle
Olavinlinna and the good time they had in the workshop.

It´s a little bit difficult that the students of the different countries talk together. The best way to know each other is common work. In this way it´s a good suggestion of our students that all days the students work together and they should´nt be separate at work.

Now we look forward to go to the department of forestry and antural resources in Varpala.

Over all we hope that there will be a Projekt Space III to bring the nationalities in Europe together a little more.

one nice week in finland

the 5 days in finland were very good and were greeted by the friendly people finish. the work in the workshop was very enjoyable aspect was still a lot of space and nice staff, the wooden clock has made it fun to produce as we were allowed to use the machine. the work with the Finnish students were very pleasant and good. on the whole it was a very nice week, the schedule was completely in order not too early and not too late. The visits were also intresting especially in wood museum. I would like to come back to savonlinna very good working atmosphere especially liked the landscape. The only thing I did not like the food was sometimes but generally it was great, a big thank you has coached at the school sami us. :))) !!!
- It was very funny to work with the students . It was not boring and not too heavy. We all had a lot of fun together with one another.

- To build the clock was very  interesting  and we have fun to build that.

- Cooperation with the Finnish students have very funny .We has a lot of  fun all of us were very good understanding. They was  very nice and we had a lot of fun  all together with the Finnish students but also with the class.

- The program was very good which was divided very well. We dont working too much and not too less.

- My Englisch would be better at my time in Finnland.

All good things come to an End

It was very nice that we was allowed to come to finland and get some experience. I have fun with the finnish students i had lerned a lot of things from them. It was a nice idea to make the clock that looks very nice.
I would be happy when i was allowed to come baack to Savonlinna and work in a company. In the time were we stand in Finland i have lerned to speak better english sometimes my heat started to thinking in english :D In Finland the school wasnt so hard like in germany at our school everything has a fixed time but when i have seen it right here everything goes more relaxed. I don´t have any ideas to make this project better i think it was perfect the main thing is that the project continue. I want to say thank you to all people who have spend their time with us and wich has supported us.

Toughts from Finnish students

1. Working in the workshop
- working generally in the workshop?
- about the work/product? The clock you made...
- how was it working with finish/german students?

- It was interesting to see how they work in Germany. Here in Finland we are little bit rougher and work more with machines than with own hands. It was interesting to hear that in Germany they need a license to use machines (saw, planes etc.) and when in Finland we used machines already at first grade. German students were hardworking and excited to do work.

2. Generally about the whole week?
- timetable? Flexible or too tight?
- about the visits you have made?
- did you learn to speak english better?
- would you like to come again in Savonlinna? For example to work in a company for 4 weeks?

Timetable was just suitable. We were afraid that clock was too early finished or it would not get finished at all, but timetable was just suitable for clock making.

Our english skills didn't improve a lot, but we got more trust for our english skills.

Feedback and ideas for SPACE III :)

What can I say, nice week indeed. I'm very happy with our students work. Thank you Minttu, Jani, Erja and Mikko. You speak english well and  you are not afraid to help students from other countries. Beside that you have great ideas we can use in our school :)
PLANNING: We teachers should plan the work in the workshops a little bit better. Working on the workshop went well but it could be even better.
DOCUMENTING: If we got a new project (SPACE III?) we could document our work better using blog. In SPACE II we finish people used blog to document and it is great way to do it. We posted experiences with german students and teachers when they visited Savonlinna. The first impression was that they were quite excited and interested about it. I am very happy of their work, points for you. Great work!
TEACHERS ROLE: About teachers work in a foreign country. We should focus better on that too. Teachers might stay too "loose" during the visit? That's my opinion. So work for the teachers too, something that they can use in their home country.

IDEAS FOR THE SPACE III
1. KESTÄVÄ KEHITYS/ECOLOGICAL VALUES :  everyone could present how they are considering egolocical values in their education.
2. TYÖTURVALLISUUS / SECURITY? everyone could present how they are considering egolocical values in their education. At the moment it is very different in different countries.
3. NEW INNOVATIVE MATERIALS : everyone could present how they are considering new materials in their education.
4. PLANNING  : Could we use modern technology during planning next visit/product? Video conference before visit?
5. NEW INNOVATIVE or/and ECOLOGICAL TECHNOLOGIES:

6. MAKING TUTORIAL VIDEOS TOGETHER? Using modern technology

Those are the first ideas and experiences, we will write more...

Yesterday afternoon we were in the museum Lusto. At night we were eating pizza dan still. After that we were still in the sauna dan. Today, we have continued to work in the workshop on our clock.

our day in the workshop :D

as you can see here, I glue the wood. 2 pages we would have to stick with it, the two sides remain together. klebem after I did that with a wood screw clamp together and then I waited for 30 minutes until it has dried.

Furkan

Last night we were with the Danish and Finnish students in the Lusto Museum and it was very interesting. In the afternoon we all went to eat pizza and it all tasted good. This morning we started again in the workshop and completed our clocks. :)

The third

Today i worked for the first time with an electric chisel. In germany we use sunflower oil to treat the wood but the finnish people use Wax to do this. Yesterday we visit the woodmuseum who calls Lusto after that we go to eat in pizzeria there the food was very good. Later in the evening we was go to a pub and watched a football match Borrussia Dortmund against Real Madrid. In the morning we work on the clocks.

White Savonlinna

Yesterday after lunch we went to the forst museum "Lusto". We spent two hours in the exhibition and it was very interessting. You can train to work with a Harvester or a caterpillar and the students and the teachers use this possibility.

At night we had a delicious dinner, french kitchen with an opening course of snail.
The main course was the leg of a duck, afterwards french cheese and a fine dessert with figs was served.
The apprentices of the school served us the because this restaurant belongs to the vocational school of Savonlinna. So here the students can train the service.

Later we went to a beer-house and to look soccer, because Dortmund play against Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League.

In the morning our students are working in the workshop to complete the clock. Perhaps later we will visit a company which is nearby.

It´s still snowing and we can´t be sure that it is possible to go fishing tomorrow evening, perhaps ice-fishing.

Tanskan matka

Saavuimme maanantaina Helsinkiin ja olimme lentokenttä hotellissa yötä.
Seuraavana aamuna lähdimme lentokoneella köpikseen josta jatkoimme Karup nimiseen kaupunkiin. Karupista menimme tilataksilla Skiveen.
Täällä käytiin kolme päivää koulussa tekemässä jottain puisia pukkeja.
Käytiin eilen pyörimässä ja syömässä toisessa koulussa ja katsomassa linnaa nimeltä söprub.

Tälläisiä pömpeleitä myö veistettiin siellä koulussa.

Tanskan onnistunut vierailu

Vierailumme Tanskan teknisessä oppilaitoksessa on sujunut hienosti. Opiskelijat ovet tehneet ryhmätyönä puisia pukkeja, jotka valmistuvat tänää. Lisäksi olemme vierailleet Marienlystin yhteistyöoppilaitoksessa, Spottrupin vanhassa linnassa sekä yli sata vuotta vanhassa puisessa kerhotalossa, jota tanskalaiset opiskelijat entisöivät. Huomenna koittaakin lähtö kohti kotimaata.
